 How to Change PROCESSOR Name for LIFETiME

To Change the name of your processor, it was required that the user updates the Processor Name String registry key each time when Windows starts.

It is very easy to change your processor name for lifetime by changing a registry key and placing a shortcut to it in the windows start up folder.

Follow the step to complete the process


1.Open Notepad/++/Wordpad /Any text editor


2.Copy and paste the exact code given below:-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0]
"ProcessorNameString"="intel(R) core i3/i5/i7       2.30 GHz/2.70GHz/3.10GHz"

In above code you have to decide that the which processor name with respectively frequency change
if you wanna to change name i3 then please use 2.30GHz and delete all other string from the code.. In short use matching color string from above code.


3.Save the file with hello.reg whatever you want but must with .reg extension and select All File Type and then save.


4.Now create a new shortcut on  desktop. Enter regedit / S "Location of the .reg file" as the location of the item. For example, enter regedit /S "D:\data\hello.reg" (path of hello.ref where you saved).

5.Copy/cut the created Shortcut file.


6.C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (for xp user) or to C:\Users\ User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (for Windows 7/8 and Windows Vista . AppData is a hidden folder.)
 Replace User-Name with your username (enter the username which saw you at the time of  login to windows 7/xp/vista/windows 8)

7.Paste the copied file.

This file will run all the time you restart/start you computer......cONgo!!!!!!!! your DONE.
